Kurdistan

A fragmented culture longing for somewhere to belong. The beautiful landscapes seem like a world away from the reality within the Iraqi deserts.

The Landscapes

The Spring was awash with wonderful colours – untouched and ever more as far as the eye could stretch.

The Mountains

Much of Iraq is desert as one would imagine. However, somewhere special in Northern Iraq, the landscape transforms into this surreal world filled with breathtaking views.

The Night

At night, the landscapes is transformed by the painter’s black brush strokes. One sees the evolution of technology taking shape around the cities.

Final thoughts

I wanted to keep this post brief but the all important factor is that of change. A culture so longing for change fought for thousands of years by the lack of change. There is little information about Kurdistan and yet so much passion and idealism still stands with the people. A very brilliant and clever culture, that could change the world in a way no one could understand. If only one were to let them breath, and upon exhale we would see the spirit and empathy unveil itself.
